On Sunday night, the Scudetto holders Napoli and their predecessors AC Milan square off at Stadio Maradona, the home of Italy’s final two champions.
While the host team has had difficulty early in their championship defense, Milan dominated Serie A prior to their defeat last weekend, and both teams have since had differing degrees of success in Europe.
Following his team’s back-to-back losses shortly before the international break, Rudi Garcia’s future as Napoli’s manager was called into question. However, the champions’ head coach has felt some relief after defeating Hellas Verona and Union Berlin in quick succession.
Last Saturday, before the Partenopei traveled to Germany, the ship was steadied as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored goals each side of the break at Stadio Bentegodi in a 3-1 victory.
Napoli possible starting lineup:
Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Natan, Rui; Cajuste, Lobotka, Zielinski; Politano, Raspadori, Kvaratskhelia
AC Milan possible starting lineup:
Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Kalulu, Hernandez; Musah, Adli, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao

We declare: AC Milan 1-1 Napoli
Napoli has not defeated Milan at home in a while, and because they are currently struggling and will be without their star striker, that streak may continue this week. The Rossoneri are concerned about Olivier Giroud’s goal slump, but he usually scores in the biggest games, while Rafael Leao scored twice in his most recent league visit to the Maradona.
