The Premier League’s only remaining unbeaten team is Arsenal, and they maintained their perfect record with a stunning performance just before the half. Arsenal met the defending champions Manchester City at the Emirates, a game that may put an end to the streak. Many predicted that the visiting team would win. However, the Gunners’ goal in the 86th minute from Gabriel Martinelli gave them the victory and put them joint-top of the table after their first eight games.

Chelsea, on the other hand, is still near the bottom of the standings but came into the break with a string of victories. The Blues have struggled in their first six league games under Mauricio Pochettino, winning only one of those games. But they put an end to that with victories against Burnley (4-1) and Fulham (2-0), giving them back-to-back league victories for the first time since March. However, Chelsea will now embark on a challenging stretch of games that will determine whether they have in fact turned the corner.
